Finding Home on W. Adams Boulevard
In May 2021, Antiqua found a new home, a bright, spacious studio on W. Adams Boulevard in the heart of Los Angeles. After years of searching for the perfect space, I knew the moment I walked through the door that this was it.
Natural light floods through the windows, illuminating my workbench and making the gemstones sparkle in ways that photographs could never capture. There's room to display not just my jewelry, but also the work of fellow artists who have become dear friends.
Why West Adams Called to Me
West Adams isn't just a location. It's a community with a soul. This historic neighborhood has a rich cultural heritage dating back to the early 1900s, when it was home to Los Angeles's most prominent African American families. Today, that legacy of creativity and resilience lives on in the artists, entrepreneurs, and dreamers who call it home.
The moment I arrived, I felt welcomed. Neighbors stopped by to introduce themselves. Fellow business owners shared advice and encouragement. The energy here is collaborative rather than competitive. We lift each other up.
